The purpose of this blog is to not only give myself some accountablility, but to keep a record of this experience as I train to compete in the NPC (National Physique Commitee) in March of 2012 (Figure division). Maybe this will even help motivate and change someone else's life. I never EVER thought I'd be able to do some kind of bodybuilding competition, however with some encouragement from my friend, I trained and competed in my first Figure Competition in May 2011 and took 4th place in the tall class. I recieved some really great feedback from the judges who highly encouraged me to do another show and said I have some great potential. So here I go!
Oh - and why the name "Buffness"? When I was a freshman in High School, these two boys ran past me during our 3 lap warm-up in P.E. and one said "Holy cow, your calves are bigger than mine! I'm gonna call you Buffness." It kinda stuck through high school with some people. To this day, my Dad still says "Hey Buffness!" when I come home for a visit. :)
